MALTACOURT TRANSPORT ESSENTIAL KIT TO THE RYDER CUP

Maltacourt have been working with a number of key contractors transporting critical event materials, crucial to the success of one of the world’s premier sporting events; The Ryder Cup. Every two years the tournament sees teams comprised of Europe and the USA’s leading golfers contest the prestigious trophy, with venues alternating between Europe and the United States. This year the event is being held at Le Golf National in Paris, France.

Maltacourt are delighted to have been selected by a number of the Ryder Cups key event infrastructure partners to support the transport and delivery of materials from around the world to Paris. Maltacourt have supported the install of over 12,500sqm of scaffolding, sub-structures, temporary bridges, walkways, steps, timber walls and cladding, as well as temporary structures, event furniture, giant LED screens and camera towers as organiser’s work to producing a truly world class sporting event.

50 1 sqm of scaffold trucks 50 trucks and 40 TEU high cube containers have now been sent to France from various UK origins including The Open in Carnoustie; consisting of scaffolding, seating and other structural parts for the Ryder cup as well as vital kit from China and Dubai, as well as one shipment that moved by rail freight from Shanghai to Paris!” David Willmer, Freight Forwarding Manager & Project Specialist As the Ryder cup nears its start date we’re seeing more and more kit flood to France. As well as scaffolding, seating and structural supports, we’re seeing high value Audio Visual kit make its move to Le Golf National.

Maltacourt have safeguarding the delivery of valuable AV equipment from The Netherlands, Sweden and various parts of the UK, ensuring set up is complete ready for the big event. Working with the Ryder Cup has been a project that has been 12 months in the making; from planning, to coordinating the many movements from around the world, to site visits coordinating final on site delivery... and the work doesn’t stop there! As the world’s best golfers battle it out in Paris, work will be going on behind the scenes, coordinating the movement of over a million tonne of equipment, as it leaves to return home or to other events around the world. Once the dust settles on what will sure to be one of the most exciting and competitive Ryder Cups in years, our team will be liaising with key contractors to return all the onsite equipment, structures, screens, seating and scaffolding.

Maltacourt’s presence in project logistics and time critical events doesn’t just stop at golf. Coming up we will be supporting the Opening Ceremony for the Formula E in Saudi Arabia, with multiple ocean and air shipments from the UK and Dubai, we’ve also been working with the event teams at Electro-Dance festival; Creamfields, as well as the renowned Reading and Leeds Festivals. Not to forget transporting the illuminating see-saws from London’s recent Festival of Light around Europe and eventually back to Canada later this year.
