Should you be Exporting to the Americas

The conference, held at the exclusive Panoramic 34 restaurant in Liverpool was aimed at internationalising the number of food and drink exporters. It comes at a time when British produce is growing in popularity with over £22 billion of food and drink products shipped around the world last year and over £1.7 billion from the North West alone. According to DIT, Welsh Government and key players from the northern food and drink industry UK food and drink producers need to expand trade relations beyond Europe and

focus on shipping goods to the USA and Asia via Liverpool if they are to take full advantage of the sector’s potential export value and its atone that was certainly echoed during the event.

Designed to support those wanting to export more regularly, the Port of Liverpool could be the gateway to lucrative export markets in the Americas and Asia for thousands of UK producers. The event was attended by Adam Williams, Commercial Director and Trade Lane Director, Brendan Beech, both of whom were asked to add their opinion on the current set up, with the latter a guest speaker at the event.

“Delighted to be asked to participate as a guest speaker at the conference, continuing our support to Peel Ports as they promote the use of Liverpool as the preferred port of exit for North American bound freight. The event brought together a host of amazing British food and drink manufacturers as they look to build the perfect solution to support their export strategy.”
